FAQs
How much range does solar actually add?
The four solar panels have a combined rated peak power of 200W—50W per panel. In our real-world test, with the bike parked upright and receiving about four effective hours of sunlight, the solar system generated approximately 138Wh of energy. This can provide about 17 miles of additional range. For the Go5 Pro with a 480Wh battery, this is about 30% of the battery capacity per day. For the Go5 Ultra with a larger 720Wh battery, it is about 20% per day. Actual solar generation may vary depending on sunlight, weather, panel angle, and other conditions.
How are the solar panels integrated into the bike?
The solar panel is integrated into the wheel itself rather than attached as a separate add-on. There is nothing to unfold, mount, connect, or remember before riding; the solar wheel remains part of the bike's everyday setup.
Since the wheels integrated solar panels , is the bike stable in strong winds?
We conducted real-world riding tests in strong crosswinds. During our testing, the bike remained stable and controllable, without any notice-able impact on normal steering.
Watch the actual wind test
Of course, strong winds can affect any bicycle, so we always recommend slowing down or avoiding riding in extreme weather conditions.
How durable are the solar panels?
The PHOSGO Solar Wheel Panel uses a reinforced, multilayer encapsulation structure designed for long-term outdoor use. A specialized composite reinforcement material is incorporated into the encapsulation to reduce the risk of hidden microcracks in the solar cells, while the complete panel structure is engineered to withstand IK05-level im-pacts. An ETFE wear-resistant outer layer provides additional protection against abrasion and scratches. Together, these features help the panel withstand vibration, every-day wear, and impacts encountered during normal riding.
Although the Solar Wheel Panel uses a flexible structure and is designed for impact resistance, it is not indestructible. Avoid severe collisions, forceful strikes, crushing, puncturing, or other deliberate abuse. If the panel becomes cracked, punctured, delaminated, or otherwise damaged, stop using the solar charging function and contact PHOSGO Support for inspection and replacement assistance.
What do you mean by "One-Month Commute. No Charging Worries.
It's simple: the battery already gives you a solid base range, and each day the bike sits in the sun, solar adds back around 17 miles. Since most daily commutes stay within about 20 miles, the net drain on the battery stays small — so a single full charge can last roughly 16 to 35 days be-fore you need to plug in, depending on how you ride and the weather
Does solar only work when parked, or also while I ride?
Both. Parked in the sun, the wheels recharge the battery — around 17 miles of range over a few sunny hours. Riding in the sun, that power flows straight to the motor, so you draw less from the battery per mile (about 6.5 Wh/mi vs 8 Wh/mi) — stretching your range even further.
How should I lock a PHOSGO Solar E-Bike?
Three Recommended Ways to Lock Your Go5 Solar E-Bike.
1.Immobilize the pedals with a chain lock. Pass a high-quality chain lock around the main frame and through the crank or pedal area so the crank cannot rotate normally, pre-venting the bike from being ridden away.
2.Secure the frame to a fixed object. Whenever possible, use the chain lock to secure the main frame to a sturdy post, bike rack, or permitted fixed railing. This prevents the bike from being easily rolled away and provides stronger overall theft protection.
3.Use a disc-brake lock. A disc-brake lock can be fitted to the brake rotor to prevent the locked wheel from rotating, making the bike difficult to push away. Always remove the disc-brake lock before riding to avoid damaging the braking system.

Will PHOSGO offer a step-through version?
Yes. PHOSGO now offers both step-over and step-through frame options. The step-through version has the same specifications, performance, solar charging system and price as the corresponding step-over model. The main difference is the frame design, which provides a lower entry point for easier mounting and dismounting.Customers can select their preferred frame style when placing their order.
What should I do if a tire is flat or damaged?
Stop riding and inspect the wheel before using the bike again. The tire and solar-panel system are separate serviceable components, so tire repair or replace-ment does not normally require replacing the solar panels.
What tire size does the solar ebike use, and can a regular bicycle shop replace the tires?
Both models use Kenda 29 × 2.2-inch all-terrain tires. The tire and solar-panel system are separate serviceable components, so a qualified bicycle or e-bike repair shop can normally replace the tire without replacing the solar panels. Please inform the technician that the solar panels are integrated into the wheels. If the wheel structure or solar module is also damaged, contact PHOSGO support for assistance.
How tall is the Go5 Solar ebike — will it fit me?
Go5 Ultra have step-over version and step- through version. The 29-inch step-over frame is suitable for riders approximately 5'7"–6'4" (170–193 cm), while the step-through frame is recommended for riders approximately 5'6"–6'3" (168–190 cm).
What's the maximum load capacity?
Up to 441 lbs (200 kg), including the rider and any cargo.
How much do the Go5 Ultra weigh?
The GO5 Ultra weighs 31 kg (68 lbs).
What brakes does the Go5 Series use?
Hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors — strong, consistent stopping power in any weather.
Does it have suspension system?
Yes.Go5 Ultra feature a 110 mm adjustable air-suspension fork and a suspension seatpost with 35 mm of travel, helping absorb bumps and provide a smoother, more comfortable ride.
How well does the PHOSGO Solar E-Bike perform on hills?
The Go5 Ultra is equipped with a Bafang M430 mid-drive motor and can tackle gradients of approximately 20–25% under suitable riding conditions. Delivering up to 150 N·m of torque, it is well suited for steeper climbs and heavier loads. Actual hill-climbing performance may vary depending on rider and cargo weight, road conditions, and assistance level.
Is Phosgo Go5 Series Waterproof?
Yes. The complete bike is rated IPX5, while the solar panels are rated IPX6 for water resistance. It can handle rain, wet roads and ordinary puddles, and the tires can be rinsed during routine cleaning.

How long is the battery expected to last?
The battery is rated for approximately 500 full-equivalent charge cycles. Partial charging and discharging adds up over time to full-equivalent cycles. At an aver-age of one full-equivalent cycle per week, this corresponds to roughly nine years in theory. Actual battery life varies with charging frequency, depth of dis-charge, temperature, storage conditions, riding load, and maintenanc
