The Vision Behind The Sun Trip

For Florian Bailly, The Sun Trip is more than a long-distance cycling adventure. It is a meeting place for riders, engineers, creators and explorers who believe that solar energy can open new possibilities for mobility. The idea grew from his solar-powered cycling journey from France to Japan in 2010, covering more than 10,000 kilometres. That experience became the foundation of The Sun Trip and inspired an international community built around cycling, renewable energy, exploration and cultural exchange. During The Sun Trip China 2026, Florian encountered PHOSGO’s wheel-integrated solar e-bike as part of a journey shared by riders from different countries and backgrounds. In this video, he offers his perspective on the bicycle, its solar design and the possibilities it represents for the future of solar mobility.
